Tony Lara, a cast member on the show 'Deadliest Catch,' passed away early Saturday morning, August 8th, in Sturgis, South Dakota. He was 50 years old.

According to InForum, Lara was in South Dakota for the 75th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Lara took over as captain of the FV Cornelia Marie in 2011, following the death of Captain Phil Harris, according to Wikipedia. He appeared on six episodes of the Discovery Channel show.
