Just in time for holiday travel, the area will be effected by another clipper system. It seems like this is the year of the clipper. Let's break it down for you.

According to the NWS in Bismarck, another clippers system will move through the area and could impact travel with gusty wind and drifting snow. The timing of the system will begin tonight through Thanksgiving and will impact travel.

The system  will be moving Southeast across the region today will bring accumulating snow today and tonight. Snow is expected to begin in the west this morning and spread into Central NoDak this afternoon. Gusty Northwest winds will develop this afternoon creating difficult driving conditions with drifting snow on top of icy roads.

Total snow accumulations of 3 to 4 inches are expected from Crosby to Bottineau and Minot, to Garrison and Harvey, Bismarck and Jamestown, to Linton and Oakes. Around 2 inches of snow can be expected in the Southwest and also in the Turtle Mountain areas.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from noon to 6 AM CST  Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve.
Bismarck is in the bulls eye for the winter weather advisory for snow and drifting snow-
* main impact, 3 to 4 inches of snow.
* other impacts, drifting snow and icy roads.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol advises motorists to reduce speeds and increase following distances, as braking abilities will be reduced. allow additional travel time, and do not use the cruise control in these hazardous winter driving conditions.
