As California Chrome attempts to become the first horse to win the Triple Crown in over thirty years, more than 100,000 people have packed into Belmont Park in New York. You don't have to travel to New York, though, to see great horse racing.

There are actually two horse tracks in North Dakota: Chippewa Downs in Belcourt and the North Dakota Horse Park in Fargo.

The season at Chippewa Downs encompasses eight days of racing, beginning on June 14th and ending on July 6th. The track is located on Highway 5 West in Belcourt. You can learn more about Chippewa Downs via their Facebook page HERE.

The season at the North Dakota Horse Park encompasses three weekends in 2014: July 19th and 20th, July 26th and 27, and August 2nd and 3rd. Admission is just $4 for adults and kids 12 and under get to see the races absolutely free. There are also family and VIP gazebos available.
