The Western Dakota Association also known as the WDA or West Region, and it's member schools have announced some changes for it's Fall sports seasons.  According to the WDA website the health and well being of all it's stakeholders remain the highest priority.  The following changes have been implemented to help the spread of COVID-19 during this pandemic.

Football:  All Class AAA non-conference games with the EDC or East region have been cancelled.  Class AA schools will continue with its schedules as planned.  Postseason playoff games for both AAA and AA remain in place for now.

Volleyball:  In-season tournaments for varsity and sub-varsity teams have been canceled.  The WDA will conduct it's current regular season plan for now and post-season tournaments remain in place for now.

Boy's Soccer:  Non-conference matches with the EDC are cancelled.  The WDA will have a double round robin schedule for its teams.  Post-season tournament remains for now.

Cross Country (Boys/Girls): A modified schedule will be in place for the regular season which includes limiting all invitation meets to six teams or less.  The post-season remains in place for now.

Girl's Swimming-Diving: Again, a modified schedule will be in place for the regular season.  Post-season remains good for now.

Boy's Tennis: Non conference games with EDC and any in-season invitational tournaments are cancelled.  WDA will conduct a double round robin schedule for its teams.  Post-season is on.

Girls Golf:  The annual cross-over tournament with EDC is cancelled.  All other regular season conference tournaments are on.  The post-season is on for now.

Notice, "on for now" is how they phrase the post-season for all of their sports.  So much uncertainty with everything right now.  I'm sure this is VERY disappointing for all the Senior athletes who have trained so hard to get to this point.  However, a limited schedule is certainly better than the alternative.  In case you're wondering, this means they will only play 7 games for AAA football and that includes BHS, CHS, Mandan & Legacy.
