Lately, if you see a video that depicts cops and the public together, you probably assume the worst. That mentality may change, though, after watching this video out of Fargo.

Bruce Shields Jr. told InForum that he and his buddies were playing basketball at Dike West in downtown Fargo recently when a group of ten cops rolled up on their bicycles.

As his buddies got nervous that the police had shown up, Shields Jr. decided to invite them on the court and challenge them to a pickup game:

I can't say enough about how amazing this is. They rolled up on two wheels and all the guys got nervous. I said man I'll invite em over! I gave em all nicknames and they all laughed! This shows how this community is together! #FargoPD for the win!!! Share Share Share! The world needs more stuff like this. The officers told InForum that they were on bikes, as part of a training exercise, but a hill they wanted to use wasn't available.

With a loss as to what to do, they decided to make their way towards the basketball court and accept Shields Jr's invitation to join the game.

So, who won? The cops 7-5, though I think we all win after seeing a video like this. Kudos to the Fargo Police Department for showing us all what the relationship between the police and the public should really be like.
