Mardi Gras otherwise known as Fat Tuesday is a Catholic celebration to binge on all of the vices and bad habits you plan give up starting Ash Wednesday. The Lenten season lasts for 40 days. On Tuesday you indulge, and Ash Wednesday, you give it up.

Many people give up drinking alcohol, chocolates or some people take on added responsibility during Lent.

On Ash Wednesday, you may notice people with ashes on their forehead they received from church.

There are so many celebrations happening including Mobile, AL., Lafayette, LA., Thibodaux, LA, Mamau, LA., Lake Charles, LA and other Southern towns have their own celebrations and traditions.
