Warning For Parents!  With everything going on in the world right now, parents really don't need something else to have to worry about.  Covid 19, unemployment, the economy, rioting, are my child's activities going to take place, are kids going to be in school this Fall, what are kids doing with all of this spare time and probably less supervision...all of these questions are weighing on the minds of many parents.

Unfortunately, you can add another concern to parent's list and that brings us to the Tik Tok Benadryl Challenge and today's SOMETHING YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Tik Tok Benadryl Challenge: The Star-Telegram says teenagers are taking part in a dangerous new Internet challenge called the Tik Tok Benadryl Challenge. They are ingesting as many as 12 Benadryl pills in order to experience a high and hallucination. At least three teenagers were recently hospitalized in Fort Worth, Texas after overdosing on the drug. Some teens are chasing the Benadryl with energy drinks.

Health Magazine says, ''Benadryl is an anticholinergic drug. It can cause seizures, coma, even death. This medication blocks the cholinergic nervous system, which is responsible for saliva production and tear production, and facilitates bodily functions such as urination, heart rate, body temperature, brain function, and eye functioning.”

Personally, I greatly appreciate the ability to urinate over a feeling of euphoria, but that's not the point.  The point is, if kids don't have something to do, structure and a routine, they'll find something to do and it's NOT always the brightest or most constructive thing.

Think back to when you were that age, did you always make the best decisions?  If your honest, the answer is NO!  The TIK TOK Benadryl Challenge, as are most social media "Challenges", provide great examples of why everyone (ESPECIALLY OUR KIDS) need our lives, sports, school, routines back to some sort of normalcy and that's today's SOMETHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!
