When we slowly start to thaw out, living in North Dakota, the sun starts to become our friend. We can actually dust off our spring equipment (shorts/bicycle/even our outside grill) and put them to use again.

Sunny warmer weather also brings ice and snow to melt. The streets become alive with water running into drains and rivers. Possible flooding suddenly becomes an issue. We want to try and ignore and not think of what could happen.

The National Weather Service keeps their eye balls glued on parts of North Dakota, prepping the reality of flood concerns. Western North Dakota deals with ice blocks melting, which can raise river levels several feet in one day.

What we also have come to know, it's impossible to predict of any certain events to take place. The best game plan is to be aware, and be prepared for anything, well almost anything, that could happen. Check out more on this here.
