Last season, the Minnesota Vikings were one of the surprise teams in the NFL. They made the playoffs almost entirely on the legs of NFL MVP Adrian Peterson. Well, it looks like this season, Peterson may have to carry the team even more after the Vikings agreed to send Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks.

In return for Harvin, the Vikings are set to receive draft picks, including a 2013-1st round pick from the Seahawks. Harvin wasn't much of a factor last year for the Vikings, due to an injury. He was hurt for a chunk of the season but he is one of the top big-play threats in the game and has the potential to break off a return for a touchdown almost every time the ball is kicked to him.

This move obviously hurts the Vikings immediately but may turn out better for them in the long run. Harvin was in the last year of his contract and had made it known that he wanted out of Minnesota. Now, Harvin teams back up with former teammate Sidney Rice and up-and-coming quarterback Russell Wilson to provide the Seahawks with an explosive passing game, which only adds to an offense that already features running back Marshawn Lynch. The Vikings, meanwhile, gain draft picks which they can use to sure up their roster.

Ultimately, the offense of the Vikings...and really the entire team...revolves around Adrian Peterson. Harvin was going to leave anyway so it's better to get something for him rather than let him walk and receive nothing in return. I'd say this is a win-win for both teams.
