The University of North Dakota hockey team is interested in playing a game against the Penn State Nittany Lions at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN.

The neutral-site has drawn interest due to its notoriously raucous atmosphere. UND reportedly began talks regarding playing at Bridgestone Arena after the Nashville Predators games were featured nationally during their 2017 Stanley Cup run.

The game between UND and Penn State would be slated to take place during the 2020-21 season. The matchup will be the first head-to-head meeting between the two teams barring a regular season game being scheduled between UND and Penn State for the 2019-20 season or a potential clash within the NCAA Tournament.

In previous neutral-site games, UND has beaten Clarkson in 2012 at Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, which is the home of the Jets. UND also beat Boston College in New York City at Madison Square Garden in 2016. The Fighting Hawks will not play at an NHL arena during the 2018-19 season but will play Minnesota at Orleans Arena on October 27th.
