A University of North Dakota football player has been dismissed from the team, after he was accused of stealing $16 worth of merchandise from a Grand Forks Scheel's store.

According to InForum, Dustin Iverson was identified as the shoplifting suspect after another shopper and a Scheel's employee found two opened Nike Dri-Fit bicep bend packages. Each package is worth $8.

The Scheel's employee reviewed security footage and saw the suspected shoplifter put the stolen merchandise in his pants. The employee was able to identify the suspect as Iverson, due to the fact that he was wearing a UND jersey.

Iverson is scheduled to make a court appearance on October 2nd.

Iverson is originally from Elgin. He was a junior fullback for UND. He played in 24 career games.
