Today Is Tax Day, So Take More Of My Money!

In case you forgot, today is TAX DAY!  Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, Tax Day was moved this year from April 15 to July 15.  So, if you forgot and are scrambling, you had better get an extension filed quick.  That is, of course, unless you owe money this year, then start writing that check to Uncle Sam.

If you're like most people (hopefully), you are pretty close with your deductions and get a small amount back.  Remember, it's you're money and you shouldn't be using the government as a savings account.  Most of us can put our money to work for us than over paying on our deductions throughout the year.

Then there are the "Millionaires for Humanity" who would like the IRS to take even more money and that brings us to SOMETHING YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Millionaires Asking To Be Taxed More Because Of Coronavirus: Business Insider says 83 millionaires have signed a letter asking to be taxed more so the money can go to pay for coronavirus recoveries. Ben & Jerry's co-founder Jerry Greenfield and Disney heiress Abigail Disney are among those, who signed the letter and call themselves Millionaires for Humanity.

The letter reads, "We can ensure we adequately fund our health systems, schools, and security through a permanent tax increase on the wealthiest people on the planet, people like us. So please. Tax us. Tax us. Tax us. It is the right choice. It is the only choice."

Don't get me wrong, if you want to be generous with your money, by all means do.  Charity is a virtue, but when the words "permanent tax" and "on the wealthiest people" come up, I cringe.  There is NO tax that should be permanent and who defines wealthiest?  On the surface it sounds like a great thing to do, but what's the real political agenda...SOMETHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!
