Well, we're officially into October and that means it's time for pumpkin overload.  Halloween will be here before you know it, people will be carving and smashing pumpkins and mine will probably rot on my steps.

Our friends at Treetopia decided to put together "The Most Popular Pumpkin Products" in each state.  They based their data on Google trends searches over the last 12 months.

To be honest, I had no idea there were so many pumpkin products in general.  Items or products that I've never even heard of?  Maybe I need to get out more?  Such as pumpkin yogurt?  Have you ever had pumpkin tea before?  Yeah, me neither.  Did you know there's such a thing called pumpkin pie syrup?  I'm also afraid to find out what you use pumpkin sauce for?

Yep, America truly is pumpkin crazy.  I myself, am a little more scaled back.  I'm a fan of pumpkin pie over the holidays, but that's about it.  In fact, the only other pumpkin product besides pie on this map that I've consumed before is pumpkin cookies.  Not saying I wouldn't try some of the others, but some of these scare me.  Pumpkin soup?  Come on, really?

So, what is North Dakota's favorite pumpkin product?  Something I would actually dare to try, "pumpkin cream cheese."  Sounds kind of good to me between a bagel.  Our friends in South Dakota are a little more traditional like me, their favorite pumpkin dish is good ol' pumpkin pieMinnesota is a fan of pumpkin yogurt and Montana likes pumpkin pancakes.  You know, I think I would try those.  Maybe a little pumpkin syrup on top?
