‘Teppanyaki Takedown’ Pilot Episode Being Filmed in Bismarck

The people of Bismarck are in for a real treat, as the pilot episode of an exciting new cooking show will be shot at Kobe's Steakhouse tonight (Monday).

'Teppanyaki Takedown' is an up-and-coming series that features Seattle-based Mike Monzon, known in the industry as 'Tattoo Mike', competing head-to-head against other teppanyaki chefs. Tattoo Mike is perhaps the top teppanyaki master in North America and is considered one of the worlds fastest masters at slinging blades, coming up with new tricks to delight his audience and he's developed quite a devoted following. Teppanyaki is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food, but this isn't something you'll find just anywhere. This is in your face, interactive cooking where food becomes theater.

Starting at 5:00 tonight, Tattoo Mike will compete against Blue Ninja, where the competition could very well become chef-on-chef violence. Make no mistake, although each chef holds the other in highest regard, they want to win and will pull out all the stops to make it happen.
