According to Business Insider, All U.S. Starbucks stores will be closed on May 29th for racial bias education.

This is in light of the racial incident that took place at a Philadelphia location where two black men were arrested. This incident sparked a nationwide outrage.

In the press release, the coffee giant said, they will close on May 29th to-

"Conduct racial-bias education geared toward preventing discrimination in our stores, "The training will be provided to nearly 175,000 partners (employees) across the country, and will become part of the onboarding process for new partners,"

This is the second time the coffee restaurant closed all stores nationwide. The first time was in 2008 to retrain employees on a better customer experience.

In the Philly incident, the manager called police when the two black men refused to leave after not purchasing a product and asking to use the restroom.

The video of the incident went viral and giving the coffee restaurant a black-eye and forcing the CEO to issue an apology.
