North Dakota State's hopes of a third straight trip to the NCAA Tournament were dashed by South Dakota State Tuesday night, March 8th, as the Jackrabbits beat the Bison 67-59 to win the 2016 Summit League championship.

The Bison weren't even expected to compete for the league championship, after going just 8-8 in the conference. However, a Monday night upset over top seeded IPFW sent NDSU to their fourth straight Summit League championship game.

Unfortunately, the Bison's run ended in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as they were unable to stop freshman Mike Daum and the Jackrabbits from winning their third Summit League championship in five years.

Daum came off the bench to lead the Jackrabbits with 18 points and nine rebounds. Senior guard Deondre Parks added 14 points in the Jackrabbits win.

The Bison were led by guards Carlin Dupree and Khy Kabellis, who scored 19 and 17 points respectively in the loss.

Up next for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, it's a trip to the NCAA Tournament. They'll find out where they're seeded, who they're playing, and where they're playing this Sunday, March 13th.
