Here's a little throwback. 

10 years ago today the Memorial bridge connecting Bismarck and Mandan was destroyed. A newer safer bridge was built in its place.

This video from YouTube above shows it actually being destroyed and of course there are some disagreements on how it was destroyed, or how the environment could have been spared the damage.

I am not an engineer, nor an environmental activist so I won't comment on those issues. I will say as a human being that loves explosions, it was a pretty cool sight to see and could have imagined the reaction in real time from people living in the area when it was done.

The new bridge is safer and nicer, but there is something about the history of a passenger bridge that was there since 1919.
