Any time a change happens in your daily routine you need to know

If you are out and about in Mandan, or you work in the downtown Mandan area, a recent change in parking hours has occurred. Of course, it's always best to know the latest when you are heading out of the house.

Why is it a big deal that you know this?

Well, for one thing, this could prevent you from getting a parking ticket. The holiday season is definitely upon us, and you might find yourself heading out the door more to go Christmas shopping. So this information will have you further prepared.

90-minute parking zones are one of the changes

Here is where you could get snake-bit if you didn't see this or you don't pay attention to the signs. According to KFYR TV  "In October, the Mandan City Commission approved several changes to downtown parking. The first was a change to the enforcement times of 90-minute parking zones. The zones used to be monitored from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., but now they’re from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m." If you have been working in downtown Mandan for a while now, you may have found yourself in a routine of parking somewhere at 8:00 am knowing that you had until 10:30 before you potentially get a ticket. So obviously now you will have to plan on adjusting your routine.

Reasons why for the changes

KFYR TV added that Deputy Chief Lori Flaten from the Mandan Police Department said "We changed it because it better fit the business hours. Eight to five is better than nine to six. Most businesses open up earlier..."  So just remember this when you are heading into Mandan, could save you a little bit of money.
