Police are investigating a photo that made its way to Facebook over the weekend, showing a razor blade inside the handle of a shopping cart at a Bismarck Wal-Mart.

According to a press release from the Bismarck Police Department, several inquiries were made regarding the legitimacy of the social media post. At the time of those inquiries, though, no report had been filed.

Tuesday afternoon, June 9th, Bismarck Police spoke to the victim, who said she was at the Wal-Mart, located at 2717 Rock Island Place, Friday night, June 5th. It was during this visit that she noticed something sticking out of the handle of her shopping cart and realized it was a razor blade.

Instead of contacting police at the time, the woman spoke with the store managers, according to The Bismarck Tribune, and then posted a picture of the shopping cart handle on Facebook, which soon went viral.

No one was injured and police do not know who placed the razor blade inside the shopping cart handle. There have been no other cases reported either.

If you have any information regarding this incident, you are asked to contact the Bismarck Police Department at (701) 223-1212. You can also report information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 224-TIPS.
