While we all await the inevitable random acts of rioting that will no doubt be occurring across the country, whatever the outcome of the trial of Derek Chauvin.  At the writing of this story, the court is out for lunch...so it's probably safe to talk.  It's not a stretch to say that even when a team wins the big game their fans will break store windows, overturn cars, and light stuff on fire.  Some folks just need to scratch that itch.

Like when the Eagles won the Superbowl and started a riot.

Like the case of Jonathan Montanez who was indicted in September 2020 on one count of civil unrest.  That doesn't sound so bad.  It's like a step up from disturbing the peace or fireworks at a Larks game. (figured I'd beat the comments).

But as it turns out, one count of civil unrest can get you TWO YEARS IN A FEDERAL PRISON!

Of course not helping matters was Jonathan jumping on top of police vehicles and provoking violence from other people involved in the protest march.  Seems like maybe a lot of people like to occasionally scratch that itch too.  What's their defense? Some guy standing on a police cruiser made me do it?

But Jonathan won't be the only instigator ending up behind bars, also present at that May 30th protest was Errick Toa of Fargo.  He's already plead guilty to a Civil Disorder charge and his sentencing won't be handed down until April 12th, 2021.  But, if I was a betting man...I'd bet he might want to cancel his Netflix for the next coupla years.
