More bad news for big box stores making headlines today, as Yahoo News reported that Payless shoe store are closing close to 400 stores because of slumping sales.

Payless has filed for bankruptcy and will shut the doors of 400 stores nationwide and has modified lease deals at other locations.

The company's plan is to work aggressively to get the family shoe store back on track and profitable.

Payless is a huge employer with over 22,000 employees in 30 countries and has over 4000 stores.

No North Dakota stores are slated for closing, but one in Moorhead, MN is the closest Payless shutting its doors.
