KX News is reporting an officer-involved shooting in Grand Forks has left one man dead and two officers on administrative leave after the incident.

The incident took place Sunday morning (July 8) just after 3am when police responded to a suicidal person with a weapon on 22nd Street in Grand Forks.

Once the officers arrive on the scene they found two people near the corner of 22nd Street and 24th Avenue. One of the two had a gun.

The officers made verbal commands and the person with the gun refused the commands and the two Grand Forks officers shot the armed suspect.

The officer quickly rendered first aid to the victim but he did not survive the shooting.

The officers names have not been made public as the investigation continues.
