With Thanksgiving coming up next week, that means Christmas is fast approaching as well. What would you say is a must-serve food at Christmas time?

The food publication, Delish, has done the research and found the most iconic Christmas dish for each state. North Dakota's is certainly no surprise given the fact that earlier this year, it was chosen by North Dakotans as the 'favorite food' of the state. The most iconic Christmas Dish in North Dakota is Lefse.

For those that aren't familiar with lefse, it is a Norwegian flatbread made from flour, potatoes, butter, and cream. In fact, there's a bakery in West Fargo that specializes in Lefse known as Freddy's Lefse. The flatbread is often in high demand during the holidays.

While it's true that lefse can be served year round, it's often a must-serve during the holiday season.

North Dakota isn't the only state where Lefse is served. It can be found in restaurants and supermarkets in Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Oregon, Alaska, and Washington.

But of course, everyone has different tastes and preferences. So tell us, North Dakota, what's your most iconic Christmas dish?
