North Dakota is the Worst State to Celebrate This National Day…
January 11th is 'National Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friend Day.' Today, it's impossible to take part in the celebration of this anywhere in the state of North Dakota.
Everything is currently frozen in North Dakota. Go ahead, look out your window. Do you see a puddle anywhere? No. There are zero puddles in North Dakota right now. There are actually fewer puddles in North Dakota currently than there are trees, and that's saying something.
Not only is it impossible to take part in this particular 'National Day,' but who are you to go around splashing friends with puddles even if you could? Who does that? What kind of friend are you?
If you are horrible enough to make this attempt in North Dakota, you would only find frozen solid ice. Maybe we should make a 'National Ice Day' in North Dakota and just make it today since that's all that's outside. Yes, there's snow, but due to the subzero temperatures outside, it's more or less frozen solid. In fact, as I'm currently writing this, according to the National Weather Service in Bismarck, it is currently -2 in Bismarck. We must have reached the high temperature for today just now.
If you're someone who celebrates such national days as 'National Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friend Day,' you'll have to coax your friend into taking a trip much further southeast of North Dakota. In fact, let's take a look at a retweet from the Weather Channel's meteorologists showing that arctic front that hit us yesterday, just for fun.
Well, at least you know where you can go where things aren't frozen solid like they are here. Stay warm out there and be safe on the roads, North Dakota. Also, don't splash your friends with puddles when they become available, that's just mean.
