Junior guard Carlin Dupree has left the North Dakota State men's basketball team after a dispute regarding his playing status.

According to InForum, coach Dave Richman stated that Dupree was unhappy with his role on the team and decided it was in his best interest to leave. Richman did not support that decision, though he did say that he supports Dupree.

Dupree was third on the Bison in minutes played this season, but recently lost his starting point guard job to freshman Khy Kabellis.

Dupree started 14 of the Bison's 17 games this season and averaged 7.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Dupree did not comment on what his future may hold.
