The Souris Valley Animal Shelter in Minot made a big announcement on their Facebook page this week. The people who work at/ with the shelter pulled together to rescuing a bunch of shelter dogs from losing their lives.
This past Saturday, The Souris Valley Animal Shelter's staff, volunteers, fosters, and board teamed up for an incredible rescue. The team of 68 volunteers and seven staff assisted in the rescue of 40 dogs from a kill shelter in Oklahoma. The rescued animals were all transported to the shelter where the veterinary team of two provided exams and more for the dogs. After that, ALL of the dogs brought in were taken to their foster homes.

While I did get my dog from a reputable North Dakota breeder, I did adopt my cat from a shelter. Since day one with my sweet cat, I have wanted to adopt and love more shelter pets Unfortunately, I live in an apartment, so I am not really in a position to have many pets. But I do encourage anyone who wants a companion to consider adoption.

If you are looking for a to add a new, furry family member to your loving home, you can consider adopting one of the 40 dogs brought to North Dakota from the kill shelter in Oklahoma. Seriously, if I lived in a house and did not have to worry about landlord pet restrictions, I would have many rescue pets.
