Minot native and Major League Baseball umpire Gary Cederstrom is going to be at the center of the baseball universe, beginning Tuesday, October 27th.

Cederstrom has been named the crew chief of the 2015 World Series umpire crew, according to KX News.

Cederstrom has been an umpire at the Major League level since 1989 and has already umped in both the 2005 and 2011 World Series.

He has also umped in two All-Star Games, six League Championship Series, and seven Division Series.

Cederstrom is a graduate of Minot State University, where he lettered in baseball, according to his Wikipedia page.

The 2015 World Series, between the New York Mets and Kansas City Royals, begins Tuesday night in Kansas City. Cederstrom is expected to be behind home plate for Game #1.
