The Minnesota Vikings made a big splash in the NFL Draft by trading back a pick to take UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr ninth overall.

Barr had been projected as a top 10 pick early on in the draft process, but his stock had dropped in recent months. Many expected him to be drafted late in the first round.

Instead, the Vikings took Barr with the 9th overall pick in hopes of shoring up their defense.

In his senior season, which was only his second as a linebacker, Barr recorded 66 total tackles, 20 of which were for a loss. He also recorded ten sacks.
