Minnesota Vikings Beat Oakland Raiders 30-14, Take Over Sole Possession of First Place in NFC North

The Minnesota Vikings are sitting pretty atop the NFC North, after beating the Raiders 30-14 in Oakland Sunday afternoon, November 15th.

The Vikings opened the scoring when quarterback Teddy Bridgewater hit Rhett Ellison with an 11-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Kicker Blair Walsh added a field goal to give the Vikings a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Walsh added another field goal in the second quarter and Cordarrelle Patterson ran a kick back 94-yards to give the Vikings a 20-14 lead at the end of the first half.

It wasn't until the fourth quarter that the Vikings got back on the scoreboard when Walsh hit his third field goal, a 34-yarder. Running back Adrian Peterson put the cherry on top with an 80-yard touchdown run with 1:54 left in the game to secure the Vikings victory.

Peterson ran for 203 yards on 26 carries. He also caught two passes for 13 yards. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater went 14-22 for 140 yards and one touchdown in the Vikings win.

With a Green Bay Packers loss earlier in the day to the Detroit Lions, the Vikings now have sole possession of first place in the NFC North.

The will meet the Packers next week in Minnesota.
