Unless you've been living under a rock for the past two weeks or so, you've more than likely seen videos of people dumping buckets of ice water on their heads. Earlier today, I decided to join the party.

It's called the Ice Bucket Challenge and it's all to support ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

The idea is simple: When you're challenged, you have 24 hours to either dump a bucket of ice water on your head or donate $100 to ALS.

Last night, I was challenged by my buddy Adam, who currently lives in North Carolina. So, I had 24 hours to do the Ice Bucket Challenge, which I did this morning. In doing so, I got to challenge three more people, which you can see in the video above.

In the two weeks since the Ice Bucket Challenge was announced, ALS has raised over $4 million, compare to $1.12 during the same time period last year. They've also welcomed more than 70,000 new donors.

Here's what Barbara Newhouse, President and CEO of The ALS Association, had to say about the Ice Bucket Challenge:

While the monetary donations are absolutely incredible, the visibility that this disease is getting as a result of the challenge is truly invaluable. People who have never before heard of ALS are now engaged in the fight to find treatments and a cure for ALS.
