Bismarck Police are searching for a man who they say tried to run over a police officer on Thursday morning.

In a post on Facebook, Bismarck police say at 10:55 a.m. a man attempted to run over a police officer in the 3200 block of Montreal Street.

Police say the suspect is Ulises Villalobos, 22 years old, Hispanic male, 5’9”, 170 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes last seen wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.

The vehicle was a 2013 black Chevrolet Equinox, with North Dakota license plates 166 ANF.  The vehicle has a broken driver side window and has damage to one side in the rear.

The officer, who was uninjured, did fire his weapon at the suspect vehicle.

As of about 11:20 a.m., Bismarck police were in the area searching for the suspect. Police say if you see the vehicle to contact police and not approach the suspect.

Police were on scene originally to execute a search warrant but would not say if the individual on the loose was involved in the execution of that search warrant.

Police say the public is not in any imminent danger despite the individual being on the loose.

Additionally as a result of this incident, Century High, Horizon Middle School, Liberty, Northridge, and Centennial Elementary Schools are all in a shelter in place, which means the doors are locked but classes are proceeding as usual. For further updates, you can go to www.bismarckschools.org.

UPDATE 5:30PM: The original vehicle described above has been seized by police. It was found at 12:51 at the 2500 block of Hillview Avenue. However the suspect is still at large and was potentially spotted in a White 2002 Subaru Legacy Outback traveling eastbound from Bismarck. - ND License 476BJY

At 5:30pm, a law enforcement officer may have spotted the suspect on I-29 taking the Argusville exit. The suspect may be with a tall Hispanic male. They believe the suspect may have been struck by a bullet and is in need of medical assistance. They believe the suspect may be looking to steal a vehicle.

UPDATE 9:45PM: The suspect has been located and arrested in Brookings, South Dakota without incident.
