Townsquare Media and BisMan Autism Families invites you to Light it Up Blue a community event to build Awareness  & Acceptance for Autism on Saturday, April 6th at Horizon Middle School.

There is no known cause of Autism which is why awareness is so important. Come support World Autism Awareness Day at this free event on Saturday, April 6th from 2-4 p.m. at Horizon Middle School.

Activities include:

  • Games
  • Inflatables
  • Fire Truck
  • Face Painting
  • Swag Bags
  • Information Booths and more!

According the Autism Society, Autism (ASD) is a developmental disability. It affects a person’s ability to communicate or interact with others. In 2014, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that Autism numbers have risen to 1 in every 68 births in the United States.

Certain behaviors of Autism include:

  • Delayed learning of language
  • Difficulty making eye contact
  • Holding a conversation
  • Difficulty with executive functioning
  • Narrow, intense interest
