The BismarckVeterans Memorial Public Library is doing another one of their kid-friendly "Take & Make" events. The on-going community events offer fun projects and trinkets for local kids. If your family is looking for some weekend fun, you can get the kids together to get their free LEGO sets!

According to a press release, the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library "is reaching outside of its walls to offer opportunities for engagement and creativity" for the "Take & Make" LEGO On-the-Road Deliveries. Families can get 100-piece LEGO sets "in random shapes, sizes, and colors" for the kids at various locations all throughout Bismarck.

Here are the locations that families can get the LEGO sets:

  • The Banquet
  • Heaven's Helpers Closet701
  • AARC
  • Friends'-sponsored Free Little Pantries (random/ various locations in Bismarck)

This is an ongoing event, and you can keep track of updated LEGO kit locations here.

There is a lot of history in the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Library. The library has been a staple in our community for over 100 years - it opened in 1917! According to the library's website, at the time it opened, there were 4,000 books, one librarian, and 1,800 cardholders.

Fast forward to the present, the library has made a move from its original location, gotten a makeover and more square footage, and been renamed to honor our nation's military veterans. And, of course, their collection has vastly expanded. The library has hundreds-of-thousands of books (and other media) and 46,000 library card holders.
