Governor Doug Burgum of North Dakota did what most people expected at his Wednesday press conference.  He extended the closed businesses executive order to Thursday, April 30th.

This really does not come as a surprise considering our neighboring state of Minnesota just extended it's "stay-at-home" order until May 4th.  Montana is also under "stay-at-home" orders.

The Governor also added that he believes the "peak" is still likely ahead for North Dakota.  That we should be prepared for a possible spike in the state.

The latest numbers in North Dakota include:  24 new cases in the last day.  3 of those cases are under the age of 20.  We have 365 total positive cases now in North Dakota.  We've had 9 deaths in the state and 13 are currently in the hospital.  Two of those cases are under the age of 30.

Governor Burgum added that we need to increase testing in the state before we can consider opening up businesses again.
