In my last Fox Future Classic blog, I told you about the band Taddy Porter and how they were a band that I would make it a point to see whenever they came to town. This time around, we're featuring another band that I would go see no matter what: Volbeat.

Volbeat has been around for years but haven't really experienced success in the United States until relatively recently. They were headlining major shows in Europe but rarely, if ever, came to the States until Metallica tapped them to open up a few shows on their "Death Magnetic" tour. Those shows, along with significant radio airplay, solidified Volbeat as a force to be reckoned with in the rock world.

I had the chance to see Volbeat twice at The Machine Shop, in Flint, Michigan, and both shows were absolutely amazing. I don't know that I've seen a band that sounds better live than Volbeat. I know people who complain that bands never sound the same on their albums as they do live but I'm here to tell you...Volbeat isn't one of those bands. They sound as good...if not better...live than they do recorded. The next time they're around town, do yourself a favor and make it a point to go see them.

Volbeat's new album, Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, is due out in April. Check out the first video from the new album, "The Cape of Our Hero" below.
