Former North Dakota State standouts Craig Dahl and Joe Mays are both looking for work, after being cut by the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Jets respectively.

Dahl, a safety, has spent his entire NFL career in San Francisco. Dahl played in every game for the 49ers over the past two seasons, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Linebacker Mays, meanwhile, has spent time with five different teams during his NFL career. He was signed by the Jets on April 13th, 2015. At 30 years old, this may signal the end of Mays' NFL career.

It was also announced later in the afternoon that the Green Bay Packers had cut former NDSU running back John Crockett.

Teams had to trim their rosters to 53 in preparation of the season's opening snap. Other notable players cut include QB Tim Tebow (Philadelphia Eagles), WR Reggie Wayne (New England Patriots), and DT Devon Still (Cincinnati Bengals).
