Former Duke University and NBA star Christian Laettner is bringing his wealth of basketball knowledge to Bismarck on May 8th.

Laettner is teaming up with Sanford POWER to host the basketball camps for grades 2-12 at Legacy High School, located at 3400 E. Calgary Ave.

The camps will be broken up into three groups, according to SanfordPentagon.com:

  • Grades 2-4 - 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Grades 5-8 - 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Grades 9-12 - 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Participants will work on individual offensive skills during the camp, including ball-handling, live-ball moves, shooting fundamentals, and more.

The cost to participate is $25 for grades 2-4 and $40 for grades 5-12. You can register your son or daughter by calling (605) 312-7920.

Laettner led the Duke Blue Devils to their first ever national championships in his junior and senior season. He was drafted by third overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1992.
