Take a second and think about the first thing that pops into your mind when you hear or read the word OLYMPICS. My first thoughts are on Tradition (summer games are every four years) - Excellence - the very best athletes in their sport competing for their country. Honor  - Just the thought of making the Olympics and taking part would be the greatest feeling around.

All of the above is great, but there is one individual living here in Bismarck that represents the true meaning of sports, courage, commitment, and celebrating life. His name is Kevin Arthaud. He is the director for Law Enforcement Torch Run ND. The Special Olympics have been around for over 50 years, and COVID-19 put a pause to this awesome event last year. According to KXNEWS Arthaud will Carry the Flame of Hope on the final leg of the Opening Ceremonies in the 2022 Special Olympic World Games as part of the Law enforcement torch run. He's not a newcomer to this by any means, since 1983 Kevin has delivered his dedication and passion to the athletes. Kevin Robson, COO of Special Olympics ND knows just how important Arthaud and the Law enforcement torch run is “We’re so proud of Kevin Arthaud and his commitment to Special Olympics. He’s been involved in our program for over dozens of years.”

There are several local torch runs taking place leading up to the world games next winter (in Russia) :
