One thing people loved about the City of Mandan, was on holidays, you were able to discharge fireworks. This has changed, at least for the time being.

The City of Mandan has issued a statement from the Mandan City Commission and Fire Chief Steve Nardello. Unless there is a change in the dry conditions, meaning a considerable amount of rain before June 16th, the ban would be placed. The ban is now in place.

The City of Lincoln also declared a fireworks ban, and both Morton and Burleigh counties issued burn bans and are prohibiting the use of fireworks until further notice.

The Mandan Fire Department confirmed the decision to ban fireworks after an assessment of fire fuel, vegetation and weather conditions indicated a high fire danger.

A violation of Mandan’s fireworks ban is punishable by up to 30 days’ imprisonment and a maximum of $1,500 in fines. In the event a fire is caused by fireworks, additional charges could result.
