KFYR-TV filed a report about Sawyer ND farmer Joel Newman's experience with Farm Rescue.  Farm Rescue is a Midwest based organization that exists solely to assist farmers and ranchers, that, due to illness or injury, find themselves unable to perform the tasks needed to either plant or harvest their crops.

North Dakota Native Bill Gross started Farm Rescue in 2005 and in that short 15 year span the organization has been called upon 700 times to assist families in need. 700 times!

In both farming and ranching, there are critical times of the season that if the crop doesn't get in, not only can the season be lost, but the entire operation could be lost.  Farm Rescue literally comes to the rescue.  This from their website.

The mission of Farm Rescue is to help family farms and ranches bridge crises so they have an opportunity to continue viable operations. Farm Rescue provides planting, haying, harvesting and livestock feeding assistance to farm and ranch families that have experienced a major injury, illness or natural disaster.

Planting, harvesting, or maintaining a herd, Farm Rescue provides the extra machinery and volunteer manpower to get these families through the tough times and maintain their livelihood.

Located south of Fargo in Horace ND, Farm Rescue has quite a reach across the Midwest.  They've assisted families and individuals in Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Montana, and of course North Dakota.  They can't fufill their mission without the generous donations and support of some big hitters in and outside the Agriculture Industry.

It's a very inspirational organization, please read more by clicking here
