The Fargo Police Department is in mourning, after a 6-year veteran from the department was shot over night during a stand off. The officer is not expected to survive.

According to InForum, 33-year old officer Jason Moszer was shot by a suspect in a stand-off in north Fargo.

Police Chief David Todd did not expect Moszer to survive:

Tonight the Fargo Police Department is mourning the loss of our brother officer.

The stand off began over night as a domestic argument. Police Chief Todd confirmed that the suspected gunman had also died.

The only other officer to die in the line of duty was Frederick D. Alderman, who was slain on July 5, 1882.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Fargo Police Department and the Moszer family.
