Being a girl gamer isn't easy. Unfortunately, there just aren't a lot of female video game characters to play as. Sure, there's Tomb Raider Lara Croft, Ms Pac-Man, and a few others but the video game world is mostly dominated by male characters. Thanks to Mike Mika, though, that may soon change.

Mika and his daughter spent a lot of time playing video games together. According to the YouTube description of the above video, one day Mika and his daughter played Super Mario Bros. 2 and his daughter picked Princess Toadstool as her character.

When they switched games and decided to play Donkey Kong, Mika's daughter wondered why she couldn't play as Pauline. Instead of giving his daughter the "You just can't" response, Mika decided to hack the game and replace Mario with Pauline. What you see above is the new, female-friendly version of Donkey Kong.
