Carson Wentz's rise to superstardom continues this week, as he'll appear on the cover of one of the country's most popular sports magazines, Sports Illustrated.

Sports Illustrated made the Wentz cover announcement on Twitter Tuesday morning (5/3)

According to InForum, Wentz is one of the quarterbacks that will appear on three regional covers SI will release. The other two are number one overall pick Jared Goff and Paxton Lynch.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected Wentz with the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, essentially making him their 'quarterback of the future.'

Wentz is the third North Dakotan to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated. Major League Baseball great Roger Maris and legendary NBA coach Phil Jackson have also appeared on the cover in the past.

Wentz will make his first appearance on the field with the Eagles in the coming weeks at the team's rookie minicamp.
