To me, the greatest feeling of all is the respect received from others. Those that come to you for advice or suggestions, sure make you feel special. I can only imagine what it's like to have a whole classroom of kids reach out to show their appreciation and love. It's a no-brainer for us as adults to do our best to try and set a good example for the youth, to carry ourselves in a manner that sets a bar for them to reach. I'll never forget the people that touched my life when I was growing up. That's the cool thing about "Career Day" - when a fellow classmate brings in their mom or dad to talk about what they do for a living.

According to KXNET a group of students from Sunrise Elementary paid their ultimate compliments to Bismarck's first responders for their actions during the pandemic. Let's face it 2020 was a difficult year for all ages. Sunrise Elementary student body president Millena Teigan talked about a wonderful event “This project, starting from the beginning, we asked everyone what they wanted to for Kindness Week and a lot of kids really wanted to do a first responder project.”  The timing of this couldn't have been any better since it fell during Valentine's week - So the kids poured out their hearts and gave thanks for everything our police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and medical professionals do - their unique expression through homemade cards. One of the many little admirers, 5th grader Augustine Mulbath, said it beautifully "They’ve been saving many many lives and they’re heroes in my heart.”
