I love seeing Little Free Pantries in North Dakota. How cool is it that communities can come together like this and help feed people in need? We have quite a few Free Little Pantries in the Bismarck-Mandan communities. And some local Girl Scouts are fixing up the pantries for the winter.

KX News did a story on the Dakota Horizon's Girl Scout Troop 83044 and their cool community project. According to KX News, the troop is working to receive their bronze award by fixing doors, windows, and paint on the Little Free Pantries in our our community. Get the full story here.

I think this is such a creative way to better the community. I mean, Little Free Pantries are a great way to help people in need. But I never really thought about the toll things like North Dakota weather and vandalism have on the pantries. So, it is a big deal that these girls are stepping up to make sure the community's pantries are functional for those who need to use them.

If you are curious about these Little Free Pantries in Bismarck-Mandan, you can find many locations throughout the area. In fact, the local Little Free Pantry's Facebook page has a map of all the locations.

And if you want to contribute, you can donate nonperishable items to the pantries. KX News has a long list of things that people may need. The list includes everything from granola bars to diapers to winter hats. Check out the list of things you can donate here.
