KFYR-TV is reporting a 6-year-old Bismarck student was struck by a car near Saxvik Elementary Tuesday morning. (Feb 14)

According to police reports, the student was walking to a school bus when the accident happened at the intersection of 20th and Rosser.

The student was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver, who did not receive injuries according to the information we have, and we do not know if the driver was issued a citation. The case will be forwarded to the city attorney for review.

This is a reminder for motorist to slow down in school zones, be aware at bus stops and notice the flashing yellow lights and the school crossing guards in the area. And you must stop when a school bus has its flashing lights on and stop signs out. When a school bus has thier caution lights flashing, children are in the area or on the road crossing to the bus.
