According to KFYR-TV, Bismarck Police responded to the 400 Block of South Washington St. to a potential domestic incident.The incident went down about 2 p.m. Wednesday, where police blocked off the area and made contact with the distressed man who barricaded himself  in an apartment near the Salvation Army on South Washington.

Once on the scene, police did not know if the man was armed.

It was later discovered the man was suicidal, and could have been armed with a knife.

After 90 minutes, the man was taken into custody and was in route to a local hospital for an evaluation.

Alcohol may have been involved.

Local traffic was redirecting traffic during the stand off.
