Is just 30 little days hundreds of runners and walkers will be lacing up their shoes and heading to cottonwood park and racing across Bismarck/Mandan to take part in the annual Krolls Diner Bismarck Marathon.

Saturday, September 19th is the day for the marathon, half marathon, relay marathon, 10K and 5K walk/run.

A fun family event the day prior, is the kids mini marathon that takes place at the capitol grounds beginning at 5.

I have signed up for the 10K this year which is going to be quite challenging for me and if you've always wanted to start running the Krolls 5K is a great race to start.

Marnie Walth who is on the Bismarck Marathon planning committee has great tips in the Bismarck Tribune today for training for a 5K.

You still have time to register through September 12th, but keep in mind that registration fees will go up after August 31st.

If you'd rather help out they are always looking for volunteers too.
