Led by tournament MVP Jared Spooner, the Bismarck High boys hockey team brought home their first state championship Saturday night, with a 2-1 win over Grand Forks Central.

The winning goal came in the 3rd period and was scored by Tre Kautzman, who scored a tournament high seven goals. The goal was assisted by none other than Spooner, who tallied 10 points in the tournament.

This is the Demons first championship ever and the first for a West region team since 1992, when Minot defeated Bismarck High.
