Saturday night, January 24th, Bismarck was treated to an evening of stoner comedy and funk, courtesy of 'Up in Smoke: The Tour' starring Cheech & Chong and WAR.

The show began with Tommy Chong's wife, Shelby, coming out and doing a bit of a stand-up routine, before introducing the legendary comedy duo, who came out and did a question-and-answer session before welcoming WAR to the stage.

WAR then rolled through a few of their classics, with Cheech & Chong returning to the stage a short while later to perform one of their classic skits.

The show followed this formula throughout the evening and, after 2.5 hours of funk and comedy, the show ended with everyone on-stage performing WAR's 'Why Can't We Be Friends?'

I'll admit that I didn't know what to expect from this show, but I was pleasantly surprised. The structure of the show was definitely different than what I thought they would do, though it worked out really well. Personally, I do wish that there would have been more Cheech & Chong and less WAR, but that's just me.

After the show, I had the opportunity to take a few contest winners back to meet Cheech & Chong, which was incredibly cool. Earlier in the week, I had the chance to interview Tommy Chong, which I reminded him of when we met. Here's the conversation that took place:

Me: Hey, Tommy. Nice to meet you. We spoke on the phone earlier this week.

Tommy Chong: Oh, yeh! I told you to come down here and meet us!

Me: Yep. And, here I am.

Cheech Marin: Wait, you did something Tommy told you to do?

Me: Tommy Chong tells you to do something and you do it.

Tommy Chong: I think I told you to bring a bunch of weed, too!

Needless to say, the folks in line for the meet-n-greet laughed hysterically, we snapped a picture (which you can see above), and we went about our evening.

All in all, a show I will never forget, and I'm beyond honored that I had the opportunity to not only interview both Cheech and Chong, but meet them, as well.
